[14355] All data from McDowell. LDS records show his name as Teuwis (Matthew)Van Deusen and he was born about 1638 in the Netherlands.

Judy Van Dusen of IL says this is Teuwis Van Deursen who marriedHelena Roberts.

Charles Benson's book says "Teuwis (Matthew) resided in the village ofBeverwyck (Albany) in 1659 (Pearson). He was there from 1657 to 1700(Talcott). He owned a lot on Broadway, about thirty-five feet infront, extending back to James Street, from 1656 to 1667.

"On the 13th of December, 1677, Paulus Martense Van Benthuysenconveyed by deed to Harme Janse Lyndrayer the same property inRensselaerwyck heretofore conveyed to him by Mattheus Abrahamse VanDeusen by deed dated June 26, 1677.". The said property was situatedin the City of Albany, on the west side of and fronting on Broadway,north of Maiden Lane, extending back to same street and laying betweenMaiden Lane and Steuben Street.

On July 15, 1664 Mattheus bought at auction a cow for one hundred andeighteen florins and the running works of a horse-mill for one hundredand twelve guilders. The auction was for the estate of PhilipHendrickse (Brouwer).
