"OBITUARIES. Susan Kinney, Mother of Rev. D. Kinney, departed thislife June 17th 1861. She was born August 18th, 1778 in Hardington(sic) county, Pennsylvania. She was raised a Presbyterian and at anearly age united with that church. Was married to John Kinney,February the 12th, 1799. Emigrated to the State of Ohio in the year1811, and soon after joined the M.E. Church; in which church sheremained a consistent member up to the year 1833, when she, with herhusband, joined the Meth. Prot. Church; in which church she remained aconsistent member until her death. Mother Kinney, for the last 20years, endured much suffering and pain; part of the time she could notwalk, yet her confidence was unshaken in God. The religion that sheprofessed in youth supported her in death. She now sleeps in Jesus.Otsego, July 15, 1861. H. T. LAWSON."
The Daniel Kinney Bible also contained a sheet of paper showing thechildren of Daniel Kinney as well as Daniel Kinney's parents: "JohnKinney 1776-1857 and Susan Kinney Aug. 18, 1778 - died June 17, 1861Were married Feb. 12, 1799".
