In 1649, as the 'widowMarshfield,' she resided at Springfield, Ma, being previously fromWindsor, CT, and having three children - including one marrieddaughter. She was accused of being a witch, and brought court actionagainst Mary Parsons for making a false accusation. Mary was sentencedto be whipped, and to pay £3 to Goody MARSHFIELD "for and towards thereparation of her good name."
