Note from McLeester - I have a letter written to my grandfather, JohnEdward McLeester, from Mrs. Alexander McLeester (transcript follows).It is unfortunate that this lady didn't give her full name nor thoseof her children. I find no copy of the letter sent to her from mygrandfather in his effects.

Sir,
In answer to your letter of March 20th, 1952, I will try to explain asbest I can regarding relationship.
My husband, the late Alexander McLeester, and his Father, alsoAlexander Elwood McLeester both worked at the type business on JayneSt. for my Husbands Fathers uncle, if I recall correctly, at the timethe family lived at 9th & Moore Ste. in Philadelphia, my Husband was ayoung boy then. His Mother was Lena Shos, she was of Germanextraction.
My Husbands family are all deceased with the exception of a sisterAmelia, named after her Fathers sister.
At the present time the only living members of the McLeester familythat I know of are the children of my Husbands Brother Charles(deceased) and my children (children of Alexander Elwood McLeester).
I am very sorry your letter did not come sooner, as my Husband wouldhave been able to explain the exact relationship of the member of theMcLeester family.
If you care to write again I will try to answer any questions if Ipossibly can.
