Richard did carpenter work, railroad grade contracting, generalcontracting. Successful in his line of work and has handled some largejobs, among which was the Valley water falls, the Grant Street subway,did the work for the filtering plant at the pump station for theSpringfield water works, and he built the first piece of special roadthat was ever seen in Greene County. Owned a large home on SouthCampbell St., surrounded by a lot containing five acres. Married twiceto sisters Hannah and Mary J. Prier. 13 children.
