A.C. Tusbury left $500,000 Estate
Lumber Merchant, Who Died in Montclair, Made Bequests to Relatives andInstitutions.
By the will of Alfred C. Tuxbury, who died at Montclair, N. J., onOctober 28, an estate of $500,00 is given to relatives andinstitutions. Mr. Tuxbury was head of the A.C. Tuxbury Lumber Companyand the Northern Lumber Company.
The family homestead in Montclair is given to the widow, Mrs. A. C.Tuxbury. A trust fund of $200,000 is set aside for the widow andthree daughters, each to receive a fourth share of the income. Thedaughters are Mrs. Edith Hill, Bosworth Tuxbury and Luna ElizabethTuxbury, all of Montclair. The sum of $80,000 is given absolutely tothe widow and daughters, five shares to Mrs. Tuxbury and one each tothe daughters.
Charles Hill, a son-in-law is to receive $25,000 should there be anyremaining money. Bequests of $20,000 each to Geraldine E. Hill andAlfed Tuxbury Hill, granddaughter and grandson respectively, areprovisional upon the condition of the estate at the time of thetestator's death.
Other gifts to the Montclair Young Men's Christian Association and theMountainside Hospital of $2,500 each and to the First Baptist Churchof $5,000 are also conditional upon there being sufficient funds tomake them. Each of ten nephews and nieces, a sister and a brotherwill receive $5,000. Another trust fund, not to exceed $150,000 isprovided for in the event of a balance in the estate after all otherbequests have been met. This is to be for the benefit of thedaughters. If there still be a residue it is to go to the widow anddaughters.
