Heustis Connections

For many years my aunt, Adelle Bovee Reed Ray Fink and I have been researching the Heustis line.  In the past I had presented the data we have found attached to our Direct Lines database.  When Aunt Dee Dee passed away in January, 2001, at age 89, she left me all her research papers.  Contained in these papers were many references, notes, census details, etc., of Heustis families that had not been previously connected to our immediate line.

Patrick Chefalo, who researches the Heustis line, and I made contact several years ago.  Pat's extensive research follows the migration of a group of people  led by the Reverend Daniel Plummer from Cumberland Co., ME to Dearborn Co., IN in 1817.  Eight Heustis siblings had family relationships with these Maine migrants.  Please visit Pat's site Plummer Expedition for much more information.

With his immeasurable help and resources, I have now been able to tie up many loose ends found in Aunt Dee Dee's many boxes and notebooks. This caused the necessity of creating a separate database for the Heustis Lines.

Work continues with several Heustis researchers who at times cause me to go into Aunt Dee Dee's papers again.

As with all other compilations that I present, I make no claims as to authenticity. Other than that of my direct line, I have no proof of any data. While some of it seems plausible, I leave the responsibility of proving the truth to each person. I have source document originals and copies of some data and will gladly mail copies of these to interested individuals. When a seeming connection is made, I urge each to start digging for the real, positive, and tangible records that will make that connection reality and not mere speculation.
