All data from Collins. He began military service on 14 May 1814 in St.Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri, as a private in Peter Craig's M.S.Regiment of Rangers; volunteering for one year. He fought in theBattle of the Sink Hole at Ft. Howard, on the Cuivre River north ofSt. Charles. On 17 April 1854 William Wathen made claim for a BountyLand Warrant under Bounty Land Claim Act of September 28, 1850;stating that he was 67 years old and residing in St. Louis, Missouri.
