[231] After coming to America the spelling was changed to Lasse Hjousberry,the H remaining silent. Their place of residence was Brooklyn, NY.Lasse's father held a position in the Royal Theatre in Stockholm andone night while there he (Lasse) noticed a rather shabbily dressedgirl without a cloak and a bitterly cold night. Her fine appearancearrested his attention and he let her take his cloak to wear home. Forthis little act of kindness she was always grateful and wanted to showher appreciation in some way. Later on he came to America, met Pameliaand married. A while after, this woman now very famous came to thiscountry bringing with her Lasse's brother Marx whom she had engaged asher private secretary.
